Sinus Infection Relief
Sinus infection is called sinusitis where there is swelling and inflammation of the sinus cavities. Sinusitis can start with runny nose, cough or cold. With cold or allergic reaction swelling of the sinus cavity lining starts. Once bacteria enter the sinus cavities, they invade swollen lining which inturn then leads to inflammation.
The symptoms of sinus infection may include nasal congestion, facial pain and pressure, headache, green nasal discharge, and postnasal drip. When sinus infection occurs repeatedly, it becomes chronic sinusitis.
There are many medications and treatments for sinus infectoin relief. These medications include oral antibiotics, anti-histamins etc. These can relief sinus symptoms by reaching the sinus cavity through the blood vessels.
There are also various treatments which are directly applied into the sinus cavities. These treatments are generally meant to help moisten the cilia so that it can flush away the trapped mucus as well as bacteria. Nasal sprays are commonly applied and can be recommended or purchased over the counter. The nasal sprays may offer some relief to the lower part of the sinuses. The same holds true for a treatment called irrigation which distributes saline up to the sinus cavities. Irrigation is actually also very messy, but can sometimes give sinus infection relief.
A newer treatment that is used nasally is actually aerosolized medications. Aerosolized medications are used very much like nebulized asthma medications. These antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti-inflammatories are broken down into a small particle size so that it can pass the inflammation and make its way up to the sinusitis infection. Generally a small amount of these medications are used that results in little to no side effects in the rest of the body.
Applying steam vapor is very helpful in relieveing sinus congestion. It is usally done by inhaling hot steam vapor which then clears the congestion. Drinking some hot tea with flavenoids and antioxidants that will kill bacteria, the tea's steam will open up and clear your sinus passages. There are some home remedies that can be used for sinus infection when symptoms of sinus problems appear, such as a cold and hot compress, ripe grape juice, apple cider vinegar. These can provide effective sinus infection relief, find out more about herbal remedies for sinus infection

Sinus infection relief (Natural/herbal ONLY)?
I have a horrible sinus infection. I was put on amoxxicillin for it, but I cannot figure out how to ease the pain until it is healed. I have a huge english paper to get done and can't afford to feel sick much longer. I have nasal decongestion, headache, sinus pressure, and a sore throat. Anything that would help??
I prefer natural remedies, I really don't like using aspirin or anything else that thins blood. Are there any herbal or natural remedies that would help with it? I'm talking teas, supplements or vitamins, or saline flushes.
Thanks tons.
Where would I put the warm cloth?
